Industrial Production Report

The Federal Reserve release the Industrial Production report yesterday, showing a slight overall increase in production. The report is based on the 2002 industrial output average and the numbers are stated as a percentage of that average.

Total production in February moved up by 0.1% to 101.0. Final products were down 0.1% with consumer goods moving -0.4% and business equipment going up 0.4%. Manufacturing was down 0.2%, but mining was up by 2.0% and utilities were up by 0.5%.

  2. I saw that report as well. Strange how the overall reports don’t seem to reflect the same, especially when you consider how much of the market is represented by Caterpillar.
